product description

Maximum Grip with High-Performance Traction Studs

If our regular anti-skid studs don't provide sufficient grip, we recommend using our threaded Straight Bar Shoes in combination with our screw-in traction studs for grip in extreme situations to help prevent slips and falls.

These equine corks are designed exclusively for use with our Straight Bar shoes, where the stud holes are directly integrated into the metal core. This integration ensures better stability for the equine corks even under extreme loads. If your discipline is, for instance, show jumping, eventing, or hunting, this could be an excellent combination to provide your horse with the best possible grip during competitions or training sessions. During periods of rest, the screw-in corks can be easily unscrewed, the stud holes sealed with a closing plug to save the threads, and for the next training session, you can switch back from the plug to the traction studs.

We offer three different variations of screw-in traction studs in various heights. Please note that with the threaded Straight Bar Shoes, the studs are embedded by around 3mm when screwed in, resulting in a slightly lower effective height compared to the actual height of the traction studs.

When using our threaded Straight Bar Horseshoes with traction enhancing devices like equine corks, there are several crucial aspects that must be taken into consideration. Please take a moment to read the detailed product description of our traction studs.

In case of our threaded Straight Bar Horseshoes, the size of the stud holes depends on the size of the horseshoe. Please take a look at the thread size, indicated in the article description, so you can order the correct stud size!

Whether you are a farrier or a horse owner: In order to avoid injuries to humans and horses, it is important that you read and follow our Safety Advice when using our products. Please note that studs increase the risk of injury within the herd situation. And please bear in mind that even with additional traction provided by our equine corks, there is no guarantee that the horse won't slip. It is the rider's responsibility to regulate speed appropriately, consider ground and temperature conditions, and remain vigilant, especially at higher speeds.

We do not recommend using larger studs because they strain the horseshoe and the horse's health too much.
