The COMBICLICK system by PFERD makes the farrier's work considerably easier — especially with hard hooves in summer. The great finish at the end of the hoof trimming process is also impressive. With proper practice, the hoof can also be ground very plane — an important requirement for the fit and durability of the horseshoe.
Many horses find grinding with the PFERD COMBICLICK system very pleasant. Older horses and horses suffering from osteoarthritis are particularly happy when the hoof and joints are less stressed thanks to the gentler hoof trimming with the COMBICLICK system. In most cases, hoof trimming with the grinding system is also somewhat faster than with the rasp, which is of course an advantage for everyone involved.
However, despite all the advantages of working with the PFERD COMBICLICK system, please always check in advance whether your horse is safe to grind. Some horses can be irritated by the noise or the wind from the angle grinder under their belly.
Special care must be taken with all horses — whether they are "grind-proof" or not — when working on the hind hooves: Please always have a second person hold the tail! Otherwise, there is a risk of the angle grinder getting caught in the tail if the horse swats at flies, for example.

Thanks to special cooling slots, our horseshoes can also be perfectly ground with the COMBICLICK system and adjusted to the hoof shape without the plastic heating up too much.
With a little practice, the PFERD COMBICLICK system makes it easy to grind the hoof plane. This is an important aspect when it comes to the durability of the horseshoe on the hoof.
Grinding instead of rasping — the COMBICLICK system can reduce the working time on the horse for horses that are "grind-proof"; an advantage for everyone involved.
The angle grinder with the PFERD COMBICLICK system — in our opinion a good addition to the regular shoeing tools.
The COMBICLICK abrasive discs can be used with standard angle grinders using the matching COMBICLICK backing pad. This makes changing tools easy and convenient.
The abrasive discs have a long service life and impress with their cool finish and even sanding pattern. We have the fiber discs in 24 and 36 grit in our range.
Application and Safety Information
Please note that the PFERD COMBICLICK fiber discs can only be used in combination with the matching PFERD COMBICLICK backing pad. The backing pad is not included with the fiber discs and must be ordered separately.
Please observe our safety instructions when working with our products. Please also observe the valid safety instructions from PFERD and the manufacturer of your angle grinder.
Mounting the Fiber Disc and Backing Pad in the Angle Grinder — Video Instruction
The patented cooling and quick-mounting system by PFERD is suitable for use with fiber discs, among other things. With the matching backing pad, you can mount the fiber disc sander on a standard angle grinder.
Thanks to the cooling slots, the thermal load on the abrasive and workpiece is significantly reduced. This makes the COMBICLICK system very suitable for processing the plastic coating of our horseshoes.
We have prepared a short video for you to show you how to fit the backing pad with the appropriate fiber disc. Please note that the sanding discs are only to be used with the original backing pad from PFERD.
