Customization Services - Our Support for Your Horse's Hooves
Unfortunately, we’re still battling the misconception that our horseshoes can’t be adjusted. That’s exactly why we created this special service. We want to show what’s possible – and encourage you to start seeing and shaping the horseshoe more like a traditional steel shoe. Even more than sending you a modified horseshoe, we’d love to help you make these adjustments yourself in the future. So don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’re happy to advise you!
The Fine Print – Applies to All Customized Horseshoes
Please note: The indicated price is valid for one customized horseshoe. It is not possible to return a modified horseshoe.
If you are thinking of ordering a customized horseshoe, please note that we cannot assume any liability if the customized shoe doesn't fit perfectly. Please consider the following aspects:
- A certain amount of time passes between you taking the photo of your horse's hoof and the actual shoeing or gluing process. During that time, the hoof will grow and change. And if the hoof has't been trimmed before the photo, trimming it will change it even more.
- The Customization Service is a service for farriers who cannot plastic-weld, for example, or don't have the necessary equipment. We will customize the horseshoe to the best of our knowledge but we cannot guarantee a perfect fit. For that reason, it is the responsibility of the local farrier to check and adjust the final fit of the horseshoe.
Anti-Skid Customization
You need more grip for your horseshoes but don’t have the right tools or aren't sure how to install the spikes correctly? No worries – we’re happy to take care of the spike or stud installation for you!
If you’ve decided to go with spikes, let us know how many you’d like us to install. Do you need more grip in the toe or heel area? The more details you provide, the better – it’s the only way we can do the job right.
If you decide to use studs, please note that not every stud fits every type of horseshoe. If you're ordering multiple different models, make sure to tell us exactly which horseshoe you want equipped with studs and what height the studs should be.
Glue-on Customization
We’re often asked why we don’t sell out-of-the-box glue-on shoes—many are put off at first by the idea of having to weld the glue tabs onto the horseshoe themselves. The reason is simple: it’s the only way to ensure that both the shoe and the position of the tabs can be perfectly adapted to the hoof.
If you want as to add glue-on tabs to your horseshoe, please contact us so we can talk about the details: Which adjustments to the hoof shape are necessary? Which glue-on tabs would you like us to use?
For anyone who’d like to give it a try themselves, we’ve linked our Glue-On Application Guide right here.
Size and Shape Customization
With three different shapes (round/oval/STS) and sizes in 4mm steps, there is a perfect horseshoe
available for
(almost) every horse. However, in order for the hoof to optimally benefit from the functionality of the
horseshoe
and to make sure the horseshoe doesn't get lost during the regular shoeing period, it is necessary to
adjust the
horseshoe to the hoof shape before shoeing.
further information
Please let us know the necessary details if you need us to adjust a horseshoe to your horse's individual hoof. We can make it wider or longer, for example, or add a toe rocker.
