Multi-Functional Horseshoe with a Steel Border Around The Toe
The Arizona, which has been developped in cooperation with the Miller Ranch in Arizona, is a multi-functional horseshoe:
- The quarter clips help the shoe to keep its position on the hoof during the regular shoeing period.
-
The deeper tread pattern offers extra traction off-road.
Nevertheless, as a rider, you must choose the speed appropriately depending on the ground, temperature, and your horse's surefootedness to ensure protection against slipping! - The steel border around the toe guards the plastic in this area from premature wear. That's why the Arizona is also our "mountaineer" model and especially suitable for rocky terrain.
- However, rough terrain is not the only application for the Arizona. The steel border around the toe also adds a slight weight to the shoe in that region. Therefore, the Arizona can be used as a toe-weight shoe. Please note that this weight transfer may influence the horse's mechanics — in a good or a bad way. You must be aware of this if you use the Arizona as a toe weight shoe.
- The plastic sheath provides shock absorption, as is the case with our regular models without a steel border.
For further information on the Arizona and its application as a nail-on horseshoe, please have a look at our detailed product description.
Whether you are a farrier or a horse owner: In order to avoid injuries to humans and horses, it is important that you read and follow our Safety Instructions when using our products. Although our goal is to offer you and your horse the best possible support with our products, you must always adapt your speed to the ground and weather conditions in order to prevent accidents as best as possible. For additional grip, you may use spikes.
Important Usage Guidelines for the Arizona Horseshoe
Due to the minimal plastic covering of the steel border, the metal inlay will become visible rather quickly. It is thus not a sign of wearout if the steel border is visible around the toe in this model! Nevertheless, you have to be aware that the risk of injuries in herds may increase in this case.
We do not recommend using the Arizona as a glue-on shoe due to the minimal plastic sheath coverage over the steel border.
Debris Guard on Extra Models and Design of the Tread Pattern
Depending on which size you order, you'll receive either remainders of stock (without debris guard) or the revised version (with debris guard). Please also note that until all sizes are revised, you'll receive differently-profiled horseshoes. For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
